Language Yarns
Language Yarns - Around the table
As part of NSW Aboriginal Languages Week 2025, the Aboriginal Languages Trust invited Language Practitioners from across NSW to come together to have a yarn and share their stories of Community-lead Language revitalisation. These conversations provide a space for truth-telling sharing and learning, highlighting their perspectives, innovations and histories with learning and teaching Languages, as well as their unique visions for their Languages into the future.
Thank you to all who participated in the Language Yarns and generously shared their Cultural and linguistic knowledge, stories and perspectives. These yarns are a highly valuable educational resource for people seeking to understand the ongoing significance of Aboriginal Languages and continued impacts of colonisation on Aboriginal Languages. The yarns explore how Communities are reclaiming, revitalisaing and reviving Languages for future generations.
