  • Walhallow Local Aboriginal Land Council

    Gamilaroi

    Location: Quirindi Community Hub, 193 George Street, Quirindi NSW 2343
    Join us on Tuesday, 21 October 2025 from 9am-12pm to celebrate Aboriginal Languages Week with a community gathering that honours Gamilaroi Language and culture. The event will strengthen connections to Country, culture, and identity, while bringing people together to share knowledge and stories in a welcoming environment.

  • Redfern Jarjum College

    Location: Redfern Jarjum College, 117 Redfern Street, Redfern NSW 2016
    Join us from Monday 20 October – Friday 24 October 2025 as we celebrate Aboriginal Languages Week with a week of Language, Culture, and Community. Our students will be painting “Welcome” on the College’s front door in their mob’s Language, alongside shared activities in art, story, and food. This is a chance to see language come alive in learning, pride, and belonging.
    Daily activities during school hours, with a highlight event on Thursday 23 October from 11:30am–1pm.

  • Gummyaney Aboriginal Preschool

    Bundjalung, Gummbayngirr & Yaegl

    Location: Gummyaney Preschool, 30 Pound Street, Grafton NSW 2460
    Join our open day on Wednesday 22 October 2025 from 10am-1pm as we come together to celebrate Aboriginal Languages Week. Come along to share language, culture and a meal. Activities on the day include a cultural dance, storytelling, didgeridoo performance and songs in language.

  • Oyster Tribe Aboriginal Corporation

    Wiradjuri

    Location: 99 Wingewarra Street, Dubbo NSW 2830
    Join Oyster Tribe Aboriginal Corporation and become a Language keeper on Thursday 23 October 12-3pm .
    The project, "Listening to the Voices of Our Ancestors," is a unique opportunity for young people to connect with Elders and learn the beautiful Wiradjuri Language. This is a special opportunity to build confidence in speaking the Language, gain a deeper understanding of its meaning, and celebrate the strength of Wiradjuri culture.

  •  Warraan Widji Arts

    Wayilwan

    Location: Warraan Widji Arts (WWA), 156 Dubbo Street, Warren 
    Join us on Sunday 26 October 2025, 3-8pm and see a unique art exhibition and watch a special concert showcasing Wayilwan Language through the work and talent of our local young artists, dancers and musicians.  The theme is Wayilwan Gali-dhaarr-gal (Waterways). Enjoy light refreshments and a sausage sizzle as we celebrate another NSW Aboriginal Languages Week.
